Last Friday, Ev had to bring an item to his school for show and tell and the topic of interest was something he is thankful for. He thought about it for a long time and came up with a piece of paper because he was thankful for having a paper so he can draw. It is the moment like this that reminds me of the great life I have.
This year is also the first time I am hosting a thanksgiving dinner and I am so excited. Over the weekend, I mapped out the menu, when to get the grocery and priority of what to cook on the day of the thanksgiving. And what we are going to having are the pot roast, caramelized shallots, roasted carrots and parsnip, pan browned brussels sprouts, and potato au gratin. As you can see, this is not a traditional thanksgiving dinner!
This morning, by the time I arrived at the Fairway's at upper east side, among ten thousands people, I saw these gorgeous beets, golden and red, I immediately added those beets in my grocery bag. Then I saw cauliflower and hmmm... I love cauliflower. Anyway, I had to stop myself right there because I feel like I might just revamp my whole menu and that is not ok at that moment. After all, I spent several hours sorting out the menu, the serving dishes and all that whole process already. Then I went to the Citerella to order the meat, and I think I am all set for the party besides the cooking. I never thought I would be the type of person who like to plan all of these and do all of there works. Maybe it was seemed to be housewife's job, but what is wrong being a housewife? I really enjoy doing it. Now, if you would excuse me, I am going to iron some napkins!
