Winter Blizzard

New York City finally had a huge snow this past weekend.  And it was the first time Ev played in the snow.  I love looking outside of the window and see the snow falling.  I think that is one of the most beautiful sights.  Of course, I am glad that I am not the one who has to shovel the snow :)

Last night,  I spoke to my parents in Taipei and it was the first day of the Chinese Year there.  My mother told me that there are ticks in the apartment.  I was thinking where in the world have they been. It turns out that they were in the country house fixing the fence where some wild dogs coming inside of the property thru the broken fence.  My parents thought that it could be from the wild dogs.  The problem is that there were no exterminators who would work on the Chinese New Year (One is not supposed to clean the house during the Chinese New Year!) .  So my mother had to wait for the store to open to buy the bug bums.  While I was Facetime with my mother, she was getting frustrated because the glass jar where she put the 2 live ticks was missing.  The glass jar was missing because my parents were pack rats.  Most of the times,  I think my parents are nuts because there are always things going on in their life that I think is so uninspiring and so disturbing.  I hope that we don't become that kind of parents for Ev.

Oh, my mother promised me that she will hire the professional exterminator to clean the apartment.  Nuts.
