The weather was pretty bad today, snowing, raining and more snowing. By the time I went down to pick up Ev, I was ready to move to Mexico. I don't like colder weather at all. But just when we got out of the subway station, I saw the most magical thing in front of my eyes, all the icicles on the tree branches, it was so beautiful.
We had a pretty hectic January because of the interview and test for Ev's kindergarten(I am not gonna go there because for people who live outside of the New York City, you just think we are crazy, and for people who don't have kids, well then, you don't need to know this anyway, you would age 5 years in 6 months after going thru this kindergarten process), and parties to attend to, on top of the things we do regularly (chore mainly).
Ok, back to the whole kindergarten process, my mother who live in Taiwan, has the faintest idea what this is about and she thought the education in this country is fantastic and wonderful and some more. But I enlisted my mother and my dear friend to send me the good vibes which included going to a specific temple to pray. And I was becoming more superstitious, i.e. I saw a $10 bill on the floor on our street. I was contemplating whether I should pick it up for few seconds. Normally, I would just take it without hesitation. But because of this school process, I was thinking if this is a good omen or not. Anyway, I picked it up anyway even thought I was a little worry in the back of my head. But I figure if I don't pick it up, I would be still thinking about why I did not pick it up later on. Or the other day, I did not want to put on different color bracelet on my wrist because of this good omen or bad omen thing. Things like this make me a little nuts.
Anyway, it is February and I just have to keep myself busy so that I don't think too much about this whole school process. I will be visiting MOMA to see the famous Matisse Cut Out exhibit. Few years ago, there was another Matisse exhibit at Met about the painting and the fabrics that he encountered. It was fantastic! I hope this one is good as well!
