Happy New Year! 2015!

I know the new year is going to be better than the last one because I am wiser now.

Towards the end of last year,  I had gotten my teeth fixed (so I thought, because I was told by my dentist that I was in good hands) by replacing my 30-year old silver fillings that I got while I was in Taiwan.  By the way, the silver ones were doing their jobs, but I am the sucker for good marketing (good pictures also help) and I was talked into getting a fancier kind, the white ones, because they will match my other teeth.

The day I had the replacement was also the last day my dentist came into her Manhattan office in 2014.  Of course, my 3 new fillings look fantastic, they do match my other teeth, but who is going to look into my mouth anyway.  They don't work.  The bites were off and they hurts like crazy when I chew anything.  Now,  I eat like 85 years old (the unhealthy ones who can only drink liquid).

So, the following day, I had to take the metro north to her other office in Westchester County to fix the bites and hoping everything will be okay.  After taking the subway, the train, then walking, the walking back to the train station, waiting for the train and then subway again, my teeth still hurt when I eat.  So I was told that I might need root canal to fix the problem.  I think I almost faint when I hear that.  As my husband told me that my dentist just wanted to buy a new boat, or a new car, but I don't care if she gets a new boat or new car, as long as my teeth are okay.   Anyway,  the lesson learned from 2014 is that silver is better than the white, and don't fix when it is not broken.

Anyway, I truly had a good year, my child is healthy and happy; I did well on my pottery sale (thanks to my friends!); I still have a group of good friends; we went to Paris, and I occasionally had lunch dates with my husband.  The last date was walking around the city and found a nice bakery at lower east side call Zucker.  It was so charming!

Happy 2015!
