Paella

Two weeks ago,  I was invited to my pottery friend's house for paella.  She is from Malaga, Spain and she would demonstrate making paella.  It was such a wonderful meal and paella was so delicious.  I decided to come home and buy the paella pan straight away.

But it did not happen, as you know, life got in the way and soon,  paella was one of To Do recipes and shuffle in the box.

Over the weekend,  I started my early spring cleaning.  (I am always cleaning, otherwise, this apartment will be out of control.  Sometimes, it is a good thing that I don't have a basement, can you imagine the amount of stuffs I would store down there?  One day, I would use this.  humm....)  and found my recipe box (this is a huge box of magazine cut out, tear off and whatever things I would love to make).  Then there was Cook's Illustration from years ago and there was a recipe of no paella pan paella recipe.

This must be the sign,  I immediately compared my friend's and Cook's Illustration's recipe (dutch oven instead of paella pan) and sent my husband to get seafood.  It turned out to be delicious,  I even used brown rice (thanks to Mark Bittman's suggestion).  I love it.
